My creative response in the form of an animated movie depicting the first two scenes of Candide clearly relates to Candide. It relates to Candide because it acts out the first two scenes. While making the animation, I tried to capture the spirit of satire, as shown in the form of sarcasm, like when Candide says, "2000 men, this won't hurt or anything." Mainly, however, I tried to focus on accurately portraying the first two scenes. In addition, I wanted to leave the viewer amused, and inspire them to read the book. Mainly, however, the movie relates to Candide because it acts out the first two scenes from it, and contains satire, which was the main goal of Voltaire when he was writing Candide.
